For Antwerp Bulk Terminal, we took on repairs to a large bulk grab used for unloading seagoing vessels.

Intensive use had worn down the grab’s jaws, meaning they no longer closed fully against each other and material could be lost during unloading.

To restore the grab to optimal working condition, we carried out several repairs:

• Applying a new Hardox wear layer

• Repairing and hardfacing the main cutting edge with Hardox

• Replacing the closing cables

• Carrying out an overall inspection of the grab

Thanks to these repairs, the jaws now meet precisely again, reducing material loss during unloading to a minimum.

A durable repair that not only extends the service life of the grab but also supports efficient bulk cargo handling.
